Things to Do
Fredericksburg offers a range of activities to suit any traveler, from hiking and flower-picking to history and live music. Here are some top recommendations:
Albert Dance Hall: Hands down one of my absolute favorite things to do in Fredericksburg. This place has my heart. Bring your fold-out chair, water, snacks, and go listen to live music! They have an incredible selection of drinks as well and a food truck. You must go!
Luckenbach: A must see at least once on a trip to the Hill Country. Be sure to check out the calendar on the website to see who will be playing music.
Hiking: Enchanted Rock, Cross Mountain Park
Windmill Meadow Farm: A local flower farm you can book an appointment and tour to pick and make your own bouquet with the owners. They are so welcoming and very informative!
National Museum of the Pacific War: This is a must for history buffs!
Garrison Brothers Distillery: For whiskey lovers or a break from wine, your want to check out this fun spot!
Shopping: You could spend all day wandering in and out of the many boutiques on Main Street. Also, you can have a glass of wine and walk down Main too! I love stopping by Das Peach Haus and Wild Seed Farms.
Wineries
One of the best parts of visiting Fredericksburg is exploring the beautiful wineries! Pick 2-3 wineries to explore in a day and consider sharing tastings to conserve taste buds. You can skip tastings and choose to buy a glass or bottle instead and enjoy the vineyard. Some wineries have snacks but always have some packed and don't forget lots of water!
Signor Vineyards: One of the prettiest wineries with some of my favorite wine!
Sandy Road Vineyards: Where else can you taste wine in a treetop setting?
Barons Creek: Love every wine here!
Kuhlman Cellars: Love their wine and lots of outdoor seating near the vineyard
Augusta Vin: An architectural beauty of a winery with snacks!
Ab Astris: Family owned feeling tucked away behind LBJ Ranch
French Connection Wines: Boutique winery with a wonderful view and 3 small houses to stay in!
