By request this is my first post chronicling recommendations in the city I live in and love of Houston, TX! Exploring all facets of our city is definitely one of our hobbies so hope you enjoy this inaugural post of places to enjoy in Houston for your next date, business meeting or my personal favorite, ladies who lunch!
Savoir – the perfect combination of phenomenal food and a french-chic atmosphere. And to add to the awesome-ness that is Savoir, they offer a daily happy hour that’s hard to resist.
Local Foods - I highly recommend their crunchy chicken sandwich, or, for the vegetarians among us, avocado substitute. You can also order any sandwich as a salad, but if it's your first visit, don't miss out on having this sandwich served on their to-die-for pretzel rolls. With four convenient locations across Houston, Local Foods is always within reach, thank God!
Relish- a real gem located in the heart of River Oaks. With happy hour drinks from 11AM to 5:30PM every day, it's the perfect spot for those days when you're ready for some midday fun!
Tiny Boxwoods- a quintessential Houston institution, simply cannot be overlooked. My personal favorite? Their white wine mojito! However, do check the opening hours as they can vary, and note that the No5 location is located in West University. If you go to the location off Saint Street be sure to wander through the nursery at Thompson and Hansen connected to the restaurant or splurge for some sweet treats at their Milk and Cookies concept next to their overflow parking lot.
Eloise Nichols - Situated conveniently close to The Galleria, it's the ideal choice for a quiet lunch amid a busy day of running errands and the hustle and bustle of the Galleria.
Mariposa located in Neiman Marcus in the Galleria is the perfect spot for a lunch while shopping or special occasion as it is a bit on the fancy side! Their signature popovers with strawberry butter are such a treat to start your lunch with.
Sweetgreen is your best bet if you're short on time but still want a nutritious, flavorful lunch. Their buffalo chicken salad (or the avocado variant) is second to none.
As we know Houston is such an amazing foodie city with so many more places to love than what is listed here! Would love to hear your thoughts on your favorites too and hope you enjoy these lunch spots as much as I do.
